EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CHARTERING A YACHT TO THE BAHAMAS

Things to see and do in the Bahamas

The Bahamas is no doubt one of the most popular destinations in the world for tourists who just want to soak up some sun and enjoy a slower pace of life for a few days. All-inclusive resorts are extremely popular, and the islands are a frequent calling point for cruise ships coming from around the globe.

If you prefer a busier itinerary during your travels, there are also plenty of things to see and do during your time in the Bahamas. Some of the most popular attractions in the Bahamas include:

  • Water sports: The Bahamas is a hugely popular destination for tourists and thrill-seekers wanting to try a range of watersports including surfing, snorkeling, diving, fishing, boating, and shopping.

  • Duty-free shopping: Across the Bahamas, you’ll find plenty of duty-free shopping destinations which are home to some of the biggest American brands.

  • Pig Beach: Pig Beach is a beach in Exuma that’s well-loved by locals and tourists alike - like its name suggests, it's the home of local swimming pigs.

  • Lucayan National Park: This beautiful national park offers tourists the chance to experience a wilder side of the Bahamas and even explore the park’s underwater cave system.

  • Besides this, a trip to the Bahamas can be whatever you want it to be. Whether you want to sample the local delicacies or simply spend your time drinking cocktails on the beach, there’s plenty to do during your stay.

Getting to the Bahamas by yacht

When you charter a UNIQ yacht for your trip to the Bahamas, you can tailor your itinerary to the interests of yourself and your guests. Pick and choose the places that you want to go to and the sights that you want to see during your trip. We offer two options if you're looking at chartering a yacht to the Bahamas.

Option 1: Bimini Islands (3-day cruise)

We offer a minimum 3-day cruise to Bimini for up to 12 people. It usually takes around 4 to 7 hours to reach Bimini when embarking from Miami, but in good weather, and depending on the yacht, it’s possible to make this trip in 3 hours.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Depart from Miami in the morning and spend the afternoon exploring the local beaches.

Day 2: A day of entertainment, including water sports like snorkeling, diving, and fishing. Other potential activities include Stingray beach, Hilton Casino, Shark Reef and the Healing hole

Day 3: Depart from Bimini at lunchtime, arriving in Miami in the evening.

Option 2: Nassau (7-day cruise)

We also offer 7-day cruises to Nassau for up to 12 people, which usually take around 10 - 16 hours when departing from Miami.

Itinerary

Day 1: Depart from Miami, enjoying the chance to sunbathe and sample some incredible food from the yacht's private chef.

Days 2 - 6: There are so many things to see and do in Nassau, so this part of your trip will largely depend on how you want to spend your time here. Some possible excursions include Paradise Island, Staniel Cay, Sampson Cay, Compass Cay, and Highbourne Cay. You could also stop at the Atlantis Resort, which has some incredible water slides and a casino.

Day 7: Depart Nassau for Miami.
