The price of a Miami yacht charter can vary considerably, generally falling within a range of $500 to $1,500 per hour. However, this is a broad estimate, and the final cost will depend on several key factors. These include the yacht's size and style, the onboard amenities and extras (such as water toys, catering, or entertainment), the length of your charter, and the time of year you're booking. Luxury yachts with premium features will command higher hourly rates compared to smaller, more basic vessels. Longer charters will, of course, have a higher total cost. To get an accurate price for your desired charter, it's recommended to contact yacht charter companies directly for a customized quote.
-
Not at all! It’s actually quite affordable when you break it down.
For example, if you book a yacht for $2,500 and split the cost among 13 people, it comes out to only $192 per person—a small price for a luxury experience on the water!
Pro Tip: Book Monday – Thursday to get an additional discount (typically $200-$300 off compared to weekend rates).
-
Absolutely! You're welcome to bring your own food and drinks aboard.
We just ask that you refrain from bringing red wine, as it can stain the boat's upholstery and carpets if spilled.
Alternatively, we can arrange for a trusted private chef with experience working on yachts to cater your meal.
We can also recommend catering options to suit your preferences.
-
There's something for everyone on a Miami yacht charter!
- Relaxation: Swimming, sunbathing, anchoring at a sandbar, enjoying inflatable water toys.
- Adventure: Fishing, snorkeling, jet skiing, Sea-Bobbing.
- Sightseeing: Cruising the Miami River for city views, exploring the Venetian Islands.
- Dining: Docking at a waterfront restaurant, or hiring a private chef onboard.
- Entertainment: Onboard parties with DJs and dancing.
-
Some of our larger yachts include jet skis or tender boats as part of their standard amenities. For all other yachts, we can arrange for jet ski delivery directly to your anchored location. This convenient service starts at just $150 per hour per jet ski. Contact us to discuss your desired water toys and we'll make sure your charter is equipped for maximum fun!
-
You should pack sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a swimsuit, a towel, and a change of clothes. You may also want to pack snacks and drinks.
-
The deposit for a Miami yacht charter varies depending on the size and type of yacht. For smaller yachts, deposits can start as low as $500 or $1,000. For larger, more luxurious yachts, a 50% deposit of the total charter cost is more common. Mega yachts often require a 50% deposit as well. It's best to confirm the specific deposit amount with your charter representative, as it will be clearly outlined in your charter agreement.
-
Yes, we can arrange for a bartender to be on board during your charter. We can recommend experienced bartenders who are familiar with working on yachts. Alternatively, we can provide additional stewardess service to assist with serving drinks and other hospitality needs.
-
Yes! We can arrange for a top Miami chef to cater your charter. Your chosen yacht will need a full-size kitchen, but if it does, we'll connect you with experienced yacht chefs.
-
The cost of a private chef on a yacht depends on two main things: the chef's rate and how long your charter is. Chef fees typically start around $500-$750 for a 4-hour charter, though some chefs may charge extra for prep time. You'll also need to cover the cost of provisions.
Here is how it works:
- You'll discuss the menu with the chef, who will then provide an estimate for the cost of provisions.
- You'll provide a deposit to cover these provisions.
- After the charter, the chef will provide you with receipts.
- Any unused funds will be refunded, or you'll need to pay any remaining balance.
-
While we can't guarantee any specific wildlife sightings, the waters around Miami and the Bahamas are home to a variety of fascinating marine life. Dolphins are often spotted playing in the waves, and you might also encounter sea turtles, rays, and various species of fish. Florida's coastal ecosystem is rich and diverse, offering a chance to witness these creatures in their natural habitat. Keep an eye out, and you might just have a memorable wildlife encounter during your charter!
-
The number of guests permitted on a yacht charter depends on the yacht's size. Smaller yachts can typically accommodate up to six people (including you), while larger yachts can accommodate more, generally up to thirteen guests. Let us know the size of your group, and we'll help you select a yacht that's just right.
-
Passenger limits on our charters are set by U.S. Coast Guard regulations for safety purposes. These regulations restrict the number of people allowed on board, and the specific limit depends on the size and type of yacht.
-
While catamarans offer stability and space, Miami charters often favor stylish and luxury yachts like the Van Dutch 55. For larger groups and a more luxurious experience, yachts with flybridges are also popular, offering ample space for socializing and enjoying the views. Many charterers look for yachts equipped with a variety of water toys, such as jet skis, Sea-Bobs, inflatable pools, slides, and even trampolines, to enhance their on-water fun. For the ultimate luxury experience, larger yachts often include full-size kitchens, allowing you to hire a private chef and create a truly unforgettable culinary experience.
-
The best way to book a Miami yacht charter is to contact a reputable charter company directly. This allows you to discuss your specific needs and preferences and ensures you get the perfect yacht for your group and budget. You can find reputable charter companies online, but for a truly personalized experience, call us at UNIQ Miami at (305) 800-1010. We can help you navigate the options and create an unforgettable yacht charter experience.

It's customary to show your appreciation for the crew's service with a gratuity. A common practice is to leave a tip of 15-20% of the total charter fee. If you feel the crew provided exceptional service and you'd like to express your gratitude further, an additional amount is always appreciated. Many guests choose to give the captain a separate gratuity during the charter, with the understanding that the captain will distribute it fairly among the crew members.
-
While morning and afternoon charters are popular choices, offering cooler temperatures and often smaller crowds, the ideal time really depends on your preferences. Some guests prefer booking the second half of the day, allowing them to soak up the sun, witness Miami's stunning sunsets, and even enjoy a bit of nighttime cruising. It's always a good idea to check with your charter company about available time slots, as availability can be limited, particularly on weekends and during peak season. Discussing your desired itinerary and preferred timing with your charter representative will help ensure you secure the perfect time for your yachting experience.
-
We occasionally offer discounts depending on the time of booking, with weekday charters sometimes having discounted rates. However, discounts are subject to seasonal demand and availability.
-
Miami enjoys beautiful weather year-round, making it a fantastic destination for yacht charters any time of year. However, certain times might be preferable depending on your priorities.
-
Winter (December - April): This is peak season in Miami. You can expect pleasant temperatures, lower humidity, and plenty of sunshine. However, be prepared for higher prices and increased demand.
-
Spring (May - June): Spring offers a sweet spot with warm weather, fewer crowds than winter, and potentially better deals.
-
Summer (July - August): While summer is hot and humid, it's also when you'll find the best deals and have the most access to water activities. Plus, the warm water is perfect for swimming!
-
Fall (September - November): Fall is another shoulder season with comfortable temperatures, fewer crowds than winter, and attractive pricing. It's also a great time for fishing.
Ultimately, the "best" time depends on your budget, what kind of experience you're looking for, and your tolerance for heat and humidity.

Departing from Miami Beach Marina (South Pointe), we have several fantastic 4-hour charter options. One popular choice is a cruise through the Venetian Islands. We can anchor near Monument Island, where the calm waters and partial wind protection from the islands create an ideal spot for swimming and enjoying water toys.
Another option is Key Biscayne, anchoring near the Seaquarium. This area is also beautiful, though it can be a bit more exposed to waves and wind.
For a truly memorable experience, especially in the evening, we recommend a cruise to Downtown Miami. We'll pass by Bayside, then cruise along the Miami River, including Kiki on the River, offering stunning views of the illuminated skyscrapers and iconic drawbridges. This route is particularly beautiful after sunset.
We'll then return you to Miami Beach Marina.
-
While Uber/Lyft or water taxi are often convenient options, several factors can influence the best mode of transportation. If you're planning to drive, it's crucial to double-check with the charter company about parking availability and specific instructions, as parking at marinas can be limited, especially during peak seasons and holidays. On national holidays, parking is typically unavailable at most marinas.
For added convenience, if your house or Airbnb rental has a dock, there's a possibility of being picked up directly from there. However, this is contingent on the water depth being sufficient for the yacht and the captain's approval. Be aware that additional travel time for the yacht to reach your custom pick-up spot will apply.
If the water is too shallow for the yacht itself, you can consider hiring a tender to transport guests to and from the yacht. Additional fees for the tender and crew will apply.
Another option is to arrange pick-up or drop-off at a restaurant with dock access. This requires a reservation with the restaurant's dock master, and additional docking fees from the restaurant will apply. You can learn more about some of the best restaurants in Miami with docks in our blog. Ultimately, the best transportation method will depend on your specific circumstances and the location of your charter. It's always best to discuss these options with your charter representative to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.

Our yachts depart from various locations, so it's always best to confirm the exact departure point for your chosen yacht. This will help us suggest the most suitable destinations and itineraries for you. For example, for yachts departing from Miami Beach Marina, we offer the following options with charters available in 4, 6, and 8-hour durations. Popular shorter charters include cruising the Venetian Islands and admiring celebrity homes, or visiting a sandbar for swimming and relaxation.
For longer voyages:
- Bahamas: Bimini, the closest island, is about a 4-5 hour trip each way on larger yachts at cruising speed, making it ideal for a day trip or an overnight getaway. We also offer 3-day cruises to the Bahamas.
- Caribbean: We offer weekly cruises to various Caribbean islands.
- Mediterranean: We're expanding soon to offer charters in Dubai, Italy, Spain, the French Riviera, and Turkey!
Contact us to discuss your dream destination and we can help you plan your perfect yachting adventure!

Casual attire is usually fine, but check with your event organizer for any specific requests. Miami weather can change quickly, so layers are a good idea. Light, breathable fabrics are best in summer, while a light jacket or sweater might be needed in winter. Most yachts require you to remove your shoes, so wear shoes that are easy to slip on and off.Consider bringing clean socks. Avoid high heels. Bring a swimsuit if you plan to swim. And always check the weather, as it can change quickly in Miami.
-
You'll receive an automated email immediately after booking; within 24 hours, you should receive a second email that confirms the booking's details. This gives us time to arrange for the crew for your cruise. The second email will contain information about instructions, parking, the captain's contact number, and other vital details. Please be sure you read it carefully.

The minimum age to rent a yacht in Miami is 21.
-
Absolutely! We offer overnight and multi-day cruises to the Bahamas, particularly on our larger yachts. These vessels are fully equipped with the amenities needed for comfortable overnight stays, allowing you to truly experience the beauty of the islands. Contact us to discuss your ideal itinerary and explore the options for an extended Bahamian adventure.
-
No. All of our vessels maintain a strict smoke-free and drug-free policy. This means no cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, or any illegal substances are permitted on board. This policy is strictly enforced, and any violation will result in the immediate termination of your charter without a refund. However, you can inquire with your charter representative about the availability of electronic hookahs. These may be permitted on some vessels, though additional fees may apply.
-
Seasickness can unfortunately happen, but there are steps you can take to manage it. We highly recommend taking preventative measures before your charter. Consult with your doctor about motion sickness medications, patches, or other treatments that might be right for you. Starting a treatment regimen before you even board the yacht is often the most effective approach.
If you do start to feel seasick during the charter, there are a few things that may help. Over-the-counter motion sickness medication can be helpful if you didn't take anything beforehand. Some people find relief in sipping ginger ale or eating plain crackers. It's also a good idea to stay in a well-ventilated area of the yacht, preferably on deck where you can get fresh air. Looking at the horizon can also help to stabilize your equilibrium. If symptoms are severe or persist, talk to the captain or crew; they may have additional suggestions or be able to adjust the yacht's course to minimize motion.
-
The length of the trip to the Bahamas depends on a couple of factors: where in the Bahamas you're going and how fast your yacht travels. Bimini, being the closest island, is usually a 2-5 hour journey. For larger yachts, those 50 feet and up, a common cruising speed is about 10 knots, which means Bimini is roughly a 4-5 hour trip. Of course, getting to islands further away will take longer. Let us know which island you're interested in, and we can give you a better idea of the travel time, considering the yachts we have available.
-
Florida regulations mandate that children under six years old wear life jackets while on board. While adults are not legally required to wear them, we prioritize passenger safety and highly recommend that everyone, regardless of age, consider wearing a life jacket, particularly when the yacht is moving. Life jackets are readily accessible on board for all passengers. Our crew will be happy to assist you if you wish to wear one.
-
While we may be able to increase speed on certain yachts, doing so will result in additional fuel charges. Please discuss your desired travel time and budget with your charter representative, and they can advise you on the best options available.
-
